Return basic freedoms to Long Branch

My congratulations go out to Councilman-elect Brian Unger for his victory at the polls Nov. 7. The square off of Unger and Jackeline Biddle can easily be looked upon as two parts of a city, which is divided.

Biddle representing the status quo of the Adam Schneider Administration, which has taken away freedom of religion with the 12-year battle between them and the lighthouse Mission in an attempt to keep a church from operating on lower Broadway.

The freedom of private property rights, with their abusive use of eminent domain for private gain, and lastly but not least of these freedoms, the freedom of speech, which has systematically been deprived by heavy-handed time constraints at public meetings and the censoring of what citizens can speak about while given the floor at these meetings.

Our community has been torn apart by policies that strip away basic American freedoms and corruption with the arrest of former Councilman John Zambrano.

Unger would do well to concentrate on allowing freedom of faith and religion to return to our community.

Allow private property owners to participate in any and all redevelopment and the restoration of free speech in the public meetings.

Hopefully the Schneider Team has finally gotten the message with the recent election results and will give Unger the respect and cooperation necessary to represent the majority that has spoken out against the Schneider way of life for Long Branch.
