Unger will begin return of city government to Long Branch
It is time for an independent voice on the Long Branch City Council who will speak and work for our Long Branch residents. That independent voice should be Brian Unger's. Brian Unger has proven he will work for our Long Branch residents: + He successfully fought for public access to beaches in Long Branch + He protected property values and neighborhoods as a Zoning Board member + He joined MTOTSA in the continuing fight to stop eminent domain abuse + He believes in public education; his three children attended Long Branch public schools + He is working with labor unions and officials for jobs in the redevelopment areas + He understands the need for truly affordable housing in Long Branch + He will work to help keep senior citizens and young families in Long Branch + He will work to stop the city's abusive treatment of city employees + He will work to stop the multimillion dollars spent by the city on legal matters. The Schneider team has forgotten the hard-working respected Long Branch residents: + No property tax relief with all of this new beach front redevelopment + Reckless, wanton and abusive use of eminent domain + Allowed "theft" of homes by delaying for two years the revaluation of property + Refused to help residents who were getting ill from remediation of gas plant site + Gave away citizen-funded replenished beaches to private businesses + Had to be awakened by local community groups to gang issues in Long Branch + Is jeopardizing, fire, first aid, emergency services with contract and funding problems + Continues to tell citizens to "get a lawyer" to get their rightful service from the city + The city is plagued by continuing state and federal investigations and lawsuits + Does not understand or care about the struggle of residents to live in the city. Brian Unger - well-educated, communications professional, community involved, fully committed - will begin the return of city government to the "forgotten, neglected, abused, vulnerable, tax-stressed" Long Branch residents and frightened property owners. Please vote for Brian Unger for City Council on Nov. 7. Avery W. Grant Long Branch Board of Education member
