Register for 'Let's Talk Adoption' by Oct. 20
Concerned Persons for Adoption will sponsoring the 25th annual "Let's Talk Adoption" conference Nov. from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at Rutgers University, Busch Campus Center, Piscataway.
The conference will features workshops for pre- and post-adoptive parents, social workers, teachers and adoptees. Keynote speaker will be Debbie Riley, author of "Beneath the Mask: Understanding Adopted Teens." Exhibitors will include New Jersey licensed adoption agencies, and vendors offering books on adoption topics. New Jersey and Pennsylvania licensed social workers and New Jersey teachers may also receive continuing education hours credit for attending.
Cost is $35 per person, and $60 per couple before Oct. 20, and $40 and $70, respectively after Oct. 20.

Scouts' Joshua Huddy Award dinner Oct. 25
The Monmouth Council Boy Scouts of America will hold its 33rd annual Joshua Huddy Distinguished Citizen Award dinner Oct. 25 with a reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m.
The event will be at Shadowbrook, Route 35, Shrewsbury. New Jersey Natural Gas will be receiving the 2006 Joshua Huddy Award for its record of community service, participating citizenship and volunteer work. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Scouting program.
