Sally Ann Revello Brown

Mrs. Brown, 61, of Middletown, died Aug. 8 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Belleville, she resided in Irvington prior to moving to Middletown in 1977. Mrs. Brown was a driver at Shamrock Stagecoach Bus Lines, Keansburg. Prior to that, she was a sales associate at Sears, Middletown, and a home health aide for MCOSS, Red Bank. She is survived by her husband, Robert Brown; three daughters, Sherry Ann Brown of Point Pleasant, Alisa Ann Brown of Middletown, and Linda Marie Napolitano of the Wanamassa section of Ocean Township; and four grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Aug. 10 at 10 a.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, followed by burial at Shoreland Memorial Park, Hazlet.

Adelaide "Skippy" Connors Callahan

Mrs. Callahan, 90, of Eatontown, died July 29 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Newark, she resided in Nutley and Orange before moving to Eatontown. Mrs. Callahan was a billing supervisor at Monroe International Corp., Orange and Morris Plains, retiring in 1982. She enjoyed cooking, Atlantic City, and was an avid fan of the New York Mets. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Callahan, in 1967; a granddaughter, Jennifer Callahan, in 1990; and a son-in-law, Joseph Cook, in 2003. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Jane Ann Callahan of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Wayne and Suzanne Callahan of West Caldwell; a daughter, Kathleen Cook of Middletown; a sister, Wynn Reis of Manchester; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Pfitzenmayer of Brielle; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Burial was at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.

Nicholas Frank Castello

Mr. Castello, 69, of Yuma, Ariz., and formerly Long Branch, died July 24 at home. He was born in Long Branch. Mr. Castello was a firefighter, captain of the Yuma County (Ariz.) Sheriff's Department, and director of the Yuma County Humane Society. He was an Airman 3rd Class in the U.S. Air Force following graduation from high school. He was a longtime member of the Long Branch Fire Department and former captain of Atlantic Engine and Truck Co. While at the department, he was cited and received a special commendation from the City of Long Branch for rescuing a child from drowning at the beach. Mr. Castello was a member of St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church, Yuma. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and several other groups. He is survived by his wife, Valerie Rohman Castello; six daughters, Vicki Martin, Josie Legate and Betty Ames, all of Yuma; Lucia Roberts and Mary Ann Petruski of Surprise, Ariz.; and Mary Nelson of Morgan City, La.; two sons, Mike Castello of Yuma, and Tim Faulkinbury of London; a brother and sister-in-law, Stephan and Margaret Castello of Las Vegas; a stepsister, Yvonne; 22 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. John Neumann Church.

Philip H. Jordan

Mr. Jordan, 91, of Manalapan, died July 30 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mr. Jordan retired in 1980 from the Continental Insurance Co., New York City, where he worked as a systems analyst. He was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Freehold. He was an avid tennis player and enjoyed bird watching. Mr. Jordan was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Winifred "Peggy" Jordan. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Susan Jordan of Monmouth Beach; two daughters, Gale Jordan of Montclair, Virginia "Ginny" and her husband Ronald Bohy of Oklahoma; and two grandchildren. Funeral services and interment will be private at the request of the family. The family requests that memorial donations be made to either the American Heart Association, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick, 08902, or to the Monmouth County Audubon Society, P.O. Box 542, Red Bank, 07701.

Richard James Byrne Jr.

Mr. Byrne, 77, of Little Silver, died Aug. 6 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Newark, he resided in Shrewsbury for 40 years before moving to Little Silver eight years ago. Mr. Byrne was the current manager of Concrete Resurfacing Inc., Shrewsbury. Prior to that, he was president of Walter C. Hurley Construction Co. Inc., Neptune. He served as a captain with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Tierney. Mr. Byrne is survived by his wife of 51 years, Claire Maguire Byrne; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Richard J. and Marsha Byrne Jr. of Evanston, Ill., and Brother Frank Byrne, F.S.C., of the Lincroft section of Middletown; three daughters and sons-in-law, Regina and Jeff Ingrassia of Eatontown, Michele and Peter Visceglia of Red Bank, and Mary Clair and Greg Davis of Shrewsbury; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Jane Byrne; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary Louise Murphy, and Barbara and John Schulte; a brother-in-law, Richard Tierney; and 15 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. James Church, followed by burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. The John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements.
