      Shore Regional H.S. grads toss their caps.Shore Regional H.S. grads toss their caps. Christopher William Carty, Monmouth Beach, received a bachelor of arts degree in communications, cum laude, at the spring commencement exercises of Boston College, where he was managing editor of The Heights, the school's independent paper. A graduate of Shore Regional High School, he will attend George Washington Law School, Washington, D.C., next fall. He is the son of Lynn Friederich, Monmouth Beach, and William Carty, Highlands.

      Amy Patricia Colaguori, West Long Branch, received a bachelor of arts degree in Spanish with an elementary education certification, magna cum laude, at the spring commencement exercises at Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pa. A 2002 graduate of Shore Regional High School, West Long Branch, she was also named to her college's dean's list for the spring semester. She is the daughter of Patricia and Richard Colaguori.

      Ashley Chianese, Monmouth Beach, has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove, Pa. A senior marketing major, she is the daughter of Becki and Art Chianese.

      William R. Frake, West Long Branch, was named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Pa. A 2005 graduate of Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft section of Middletown, he is the son of Mary and Ronald Frake.

      Mary Ellen Kelly, Long Branch, was named to the dean's list for the spring semester at the School of Communications and Theater at Temple University, Philadelphia.

      Rowan University, Glassboro, announced the following local students named to the dean's list for the spring semester:

      Shana R. Smeriglio of Ocean Township;

      Michael R. Vieira and Brendan Gittell, both of Long Branch;

      Gerrie Diaz of Ocean; and

      Heather C. Brand, Maris A. Canale, Kelly M. Kinstrey, Christina M. Sylvester and Elizabeth R. Whitley, all of West Long Branch.

      Adam M. Ardakanian, a graduate of Ocean Township High School, has received a $1,250 scholarship from the Neptune American Legion Post No. 346. He will attend the University of Maryland in the fall.

      The Italian American Association of the Township of Ocean has awarded two $1,500 Continuing Education Scholarships to seniors who demonstrated high academic achievement during a four-year period in all academic areas. Awardees are: Laura Hammarberg, Ocean Township High School, and Colleen Cumiskey, Newark Academy, who will attend Rutgers University, New Brunswick.

      Italian Studies Scholarships for $1,000 were awarded to Ocean Township High School seniors. Awardees are: Antonia Borelli, Rosa Russo, Kristen Gilmore, Andrea Lopel, Gabrielle Palermo and Jennifer Higgins.

      The Honorable John C. Manna Monmouth County Italian Studies Scholarship for $1,000 was awarded to Zaneta Rago, a senior at Long Branch High School, for outstanding achievement over a period of four years in the study of the Italian language and culture.

      The University of Delaware, Newark, has awarded degrees to the following graduates from the local area:

      Kristin L. Titmas, Ocean, bachelor of arts degree with honors from the College of Arts and Sciences;

      Christopher W. Jankowski, Eatontown, a bachelor of science degree from the Lerner College of Business and Economics;

      Erin E. Thatcher, Eatontown, a bachelor of arts degree from the College of Arts and Sciences;

      Lauren D. Wagner, Long Branch, a bachelor of arts degree from the College of Arts and Sciences;

      Jamie M. Bredehoft, Monmouth Beach, a bachelor of arts degree from the College of Arts and Sciences;

      Gary Defilippo, Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, a bachelor of science degree from the College of Arts and Sciences; and

      Gregory G. Sariotis, Oakhurst, a bachelor of science degree from the College of Health Sciences.

      Caldwell (N.J.) College named the following local students to the dean's list for the spring semester:

      Ashley Cusack, a sophomore;

      Katrina Cusack, a sophomore; and

      Troy DeSantis, a senior, all of Long Branch; and

      Mark Kelly, a senior from Oakhurst.

      The University of Delaware, Newark, named the following local students to the dean's list for the spring semester:

      Jessica N. Abbruzzese, a junior foreign languages and literature major at the College of Arts and Sciences

      Carlyn M. Gonzalez, Eatontown, a junior elementary teacher education major at the College of Human Services, Education and Public Policy;

      Michael J. Kunert, Eatontown, a senior management major at the Lerner College of Business and Economics, all of Eatontown; and

      Lauren D. Wagner, Long Branch, a senior psychology major at the College of Arts and Sciences.

      The Public Administration Institute of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, recently inducted master of public administration students into Pi Alpha Alpha, the National Public Administration Honor Society. Inductees must complete at least 18 credits with a 3.7 or higher grade point average. Local inductees are:

      Todd Haggard, Long Branch; and

      Alison McKenna, Monmouth Beach.
