Worlds collide at the Guild of Creative Art
"M" by Cecilia Swatton If artists were asteroids there would be a high probability of meteor showers in May at the Guild of Creative Art in Shrewsbury. "The Nonconformist Show," independent art created by associate and exhibiting members of the Guild, has opened at the guild, 620 Broad St. The multidisciplinary collection of two-dimensional and 3-D art includes oils, acrylics, watercolors, pen and ink, sculpture, photography, mixed media and more.
The exhibit and sale celebrating the guild's 46th anniversary runs through May 24. The Guild of Creative Art is a nonprofit collective dedicated to the visual arts and is one of the oldest and largest art communities of its kind in the state. The guild offers demonstrations, workshops, lectures and classes in a variety of media taught by experienced teachers for both adults and children and is a public gallery where gallery space is available for rental to individual artists and groups of artists.
Gallery hours at the guild are Monday - Saturday, noon to 4:30 p.m. For information, call (732) 741-1441 or visit www.guildofcreativeart.com.
