Jersey Coast Unlimited Junior Football's Northern Division seeks additional teams from Ocean and Monmouth counties. This is a long-established unlimited weight tackle football league for grades 1-8 and includes both private and public middle school teams. Minimum roster sizes are very flexible, and you can enter as few as one team in this league. Both existing and start-up programs are welcome. Information is available to assist in the formation of new teams, including insurance, equipment and uniform purchases. Pop Warner Football Little Scholars Program has named five Red Bank Buccaneers football players to the Eastern Region Scholar Team. The program honors 35 students from each of grades five through eight each year for their scholastic achievements. The Eastern Region consists of 35,000 players in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and Washington, D.C. The players named are Jeff McDermott (eighth grade), Luke Roskowinski and Jasmere Rogers (seventh grade), and Garrett Sickels and Carey Neff (fifth grade). They will be honored in March at a luncheon in Woodcliff Lake and will be considered for the national All-American team, which will be announced in April.
The Community YMCA is offering an Adult Roller Hockey League at the Red Bank branch, 166 Maple Ave. Teams will play Wednesday nights at 7, 8 or 9 p.m. at the outdoor sports complex. The league is open to those 18 and over. The team fee is $575, or $65 for an individual.
