Marie Galloway Brossa

Mrs. Brossa, 77, of Eatontown, died Jan. 22. Before her retirement, she was a nurse at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Mrs. Brossa is survived by five sons, Cliff, John, Patrick, Robert and Luther Brossa; two daughters, Nancy and Rosemarie; 19 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The Braun Funeral Home, Eatontown, was in charge of arrangements.

Vincent S. Lasko

Mr. Lasko, 30, of Sayreville, died Feb. 5 at home. He was the owner and operator of Vincent Lasko Home Improvements, Sayreville. Surviving are his fiancée, Kimberly Goodnight of Sayreville; a daughter, Jessalyn Lea Lasko of Sayreville; his father, Vincent P. Lasko, and stepmother, Susan, of Plumsted; his mother, Barbara Lasko of Sayreville; a sister, Tracy Lasko of Long Branch; a stepsister, Heather Rega of Jackson; his paternal grandmother, Mary Lasko of Sayreville; and his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Grekoski of Sayreville. Services were under the direction of Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville.

Robert John Schenk

Mr. Schenk, 32, of Union Beach, died Feb. 13 at home. Born in Neptune, he resided in Long Branch and Keansburg before moving to Union Beach one year ago. Mr. Schenk was a night crew chief for five years at ShopRite, West Long Branch, Hazlet and Belmar. He is survived by his fiancee, JoAnn Dressel of Union Beach; a daughter, Heather Schenk of Union Beach; his father, Robert Schenk Sr. of Union Beach; five sisters, Nancy Donochie of Burlington, Robin Dunmeyer of Howell, Lisa Yard of Manasquan, Kristine Horton of Pennsylvania, and Susan Helmick of Apopka, Fla.; and one nephew. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Laurel Funeral Home, West Keansburg section of Hazlet, followed by a funeral service at 8:30 p.m.

Richard “Rick” Newlan Hardman

Mr. Hardman, 51, of Tucson, Ariz., and formerly of Long Branch, died Jan. 19 at home. Born in Reading, Pa., he resided in several countries while his father served in the U.S. Army, and lived in Long Branch before moving to Tucson in 1995. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was caretaker for his mother in Arizona during her battle with cancer. Prior to that, Mr. Hardman was a driver and dispatcher at Long Branch Yellow Cab. He was predeceased by his mother, Jane Hardman, in 2004. He is survived by a sister, Diana Kazules of Tucson; a brother and sister-in-law, Larry Hardman and Linda Carpenter of Phoenix; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held at Desert Sunset Funeral Home, Tucson.

M. Edwin Bry

Mr. Bry, 85, of the Elberon section of Long Branch, died Jan. 30 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, following a lengthy battle with kidney disease. Born in New York City, he resided there and in the West End section of Long Branch before moving to Elberon in 1942. Mr. Bry was the owner and operator of Bry’s Marine, Neptune, since 1955. Prior to that, he owned his own company, selling government surplus, and worked at Monmouth Park Racetrack, Oceanport. He served with the U.S. Army Signal Corps at Fort Monmouth in 1942, attaining the rank of master sergeant. He was a member of the Elberon Engine Company and First Aid Squad. Mr. Bry is survived by his wife of 60 yeas, Lucille Bry; two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Barbara Bry of Long Branch, and James and Patricia Bry of West Long Branch; a sister, Ann Stein of South Orange; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Mary Bry of Nokomis, Fla.; and four grandchildren. Arrangements were by the Woolley Funeral Home, Long Branch.
