      Man walking in street hit by car

      OAKHURST — A 35-year-old Oakhurst man was walking in the street on Dow Avenue when he was struck by a car on Oct. 12 at 8:27 a.m.

      Filemon Dacruz was struck by a 2006 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Martin Cammarano, 61, of Oceanport. Dacruz suffered internal injuries and was transported to Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch by members of the Oakhurst First Aid Squad.

      According to police, at the time of the accident, Dacruz and Cammarano were taking children to school and it was raining.

      The accident is under investigation and any witnesses are asked to call the township of Ocean police at (732) 531-1800.
