Meridian Health, Neptune, will present “Kites Against Cancer” Oct. 23 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Pier Village, Ocean Avenue and Laird Street, Long Branch. The event is in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month during October.

Interested individuals will fly kites on the beach as a symbol of unity to commit to fighting breast cancer. Kites are $15 for two or $10 for one and will be available at Pier Village the day of the event, or locally at Riverview Medical Center, 1 Riverview Plaza, Red Bank; or 94.3 The Point Studios, 2401 Route 66, Ocean. The free event will also feature hayrides, a costume parade, crafts, a kids’ scavenger hunt and farmer’s market.

Proceeds benefit breast cancer patients at Meridian’s breast care centers. For more information, call Meridian at 1-800-560-9990.
