Police step up arrests for underage drinking, noise
OCEAN TOWNSHIP — Responding to complaints by area residents concerning issues relating to quality of life, police continued to crack down on underage drinking and noise violations.
On Friday evening, Sept. 16, the township police arrested 10 people on Roosevelt and Norwood avenues, for possession of alcohol by underage persons. Additionally, another individual was issued a summons for possession of alcoholic beverage in a public place.
On Saturday evening, Sept. 17, into Sunday morning, police arrested a 20-year-old for possession of alcohol by an underage person in the area of Roosevelt and Larchwood avenues. Police were also dispatched to a house on South Lincoln Avenue for a complaint of noise, and issued five summonses for noise ordinance violations and one summons for possession of alcohol by an underage person.
Two additional summonses were issued to an individual for violating a township ordinance against sleeping in a motor vehicle on Roosevelt Avenue.
