Scrapbooking program at library Sept. 21
Walks, programs at Hook during September
“On Sandy Shores” will be presented Sept. 17 at 11 a.m. at New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium (NJMSC), Building 22, Fort Hancock. Salt marsh investigations will be offered Sept. 17 and 24 at 1:30 p.m. at the NJMSC.
“Lenape and the Jersey Shore” will be held Sept. 18 at 1:30 p.m. at the NJMSC. Fees are required. For reservations, call (732) 872-1300, ext. 30.
“Going Bunkers” will be presented Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Fort Hancock Museum, and will be a two-hour tour of the fortifications. Attendees should bring a flashlight.
“Junior Rangers” for children ages 7-12 will be held Sept. 22 at 4 p.m. at the visitor center and will feature a walk along a beach trail with a park ranger.
“Birding for Beginners,” Sept. 24 at 9 a.m. at the visitor center, will be led by a New Jersey Audubon Society naturalist.
“Incredible Crustaceans” will be held Sept. 24 at 11 a.m. at the NJMSC. A fee is required. For reservations, call (732) 872-1300, ext. 30.
A star watch is scheduled for Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. at the Fort Hancock auditorium.
Cold War Day will be held Sept. 24 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Horseshoe Cove parking lot, and will include a visit to a Nike missile radar site.
“Battery Gunnison in World War II” will be held Sept. 25 from noon to 4 p.m. at Gunnison Beach; the battery will be open to visitors.
A bicycle tour is planned for Sept. 28 at 6 p.m., beginning at the visitor center. Attendees must bring their own bikes.

BBBS annual golf classic slated for Sept. 29
Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Monmouth County, Eatontown, will hold its 16th annual golf classic Sept. 29 at Spring Lake Golf Club.
Proceeds will help BBBS match children with adults friends and mentors. The classic will feature an open range, practice green, golfer goodie bag, barbecue, foursome photo, course games and contests, a cocktail hour, dinner and awards.

MOMS Club meeting
in Red Bank Sept. 19
The MOMS Club of Middletown and Red Bank will hold a business meeting Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 84 Maple Ave., Red Bank.
The club will welcome child psychiatrist Dr. Graydon Goss. A specialist in behavior disorders and parent counseling, he will give a talk on discipline and provide general information about what children are thinking and going through.
