      Seeing both sides

      of development

I applaud you for running a story on the proposed storefront development in Ocean Township. It has long been a cause of controversy.

It is a shame that it has come down to this, as I feel like I am almost in a minipresidential campaign, where I am getting hit by both sides. I personally think the positives (jobs for those in the community, along with greater shopping choices) outweigh the negatives (the likely traffic congestion).

Instead of the township and the developers throwing the ball back and forth to each other, I wish a compromise can be made to address all the concerns.

I am confident that there are people of good will on both sides who can accomplish just that.

      Steven M. Clayton
