Mamie Jackopino Tomaino

Mrs. Tomaino, 98, of Long Branch, died Nov. 21 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch. Born in San Pietro Apostolo, Italy, she came to the United States at age 9 months and was a lifelong resident of Long Branch. Mrs. Tomaino was a self-employed seamstress for 40 years. She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch, where she was a founding member of the Rosary Altar Society and a member of several church groups. Mrs. Tomaino was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Benjamin Tomaino, in 1994. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph P. and Tanya Tomaino, and John A. and Kathy Tomaino, all of Allenhurst; four grandchildren; one niece and one nephew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Nov. 24 at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch. Leo Babeu

Mr. Babeu, 80, of East Brunswick, died Oct. 11 at home. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Carey Babeu. Surviving are three daughters, Beth Babeu Kelly of East Brunswick, Linda Silverstein of Roosevelt and Theresa Black of Eatontown; two sons, Leo of Two Harbors, Minn., and Paul of East Brunswick; and nine grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Frost Woods Memorial Park, East Brunswick. Thelma Zuccaro

Mrs. Zuccaro, 78, of the Port Reading section of Woodbridge, died Oct. 3 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway. Born in Jersey City, she had resided in the Fords section of Woodbridge before moving to Port Reading 38 years ago. Prior to retiring in 1991, she was employed by the Woodbridge Police Department as secretary to the chief for 27 years. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Port Reading. Mrs. Zuccaro was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Aitkens, in 1959 and her second husband, Attilio “Tuto” Zuccaro, in July. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Sandra Aitkens of Swansea, Mass., and Robert and Patricia Aitkens of West Long Branch; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Mostafa Ali of Port Reading; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, Woodbridge, followed by a funeral liturgy at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Cremation was private. Warren E. Dyer

Mr. Dyer, 79, of Monmouth Beach, died Nov. 18 at Avante at Red Bank. Born in Paterson, he had been a resident of Monmouth Beach since 1975. Mr. Dyer was a serviceman at Exxon Corp., North Jersey Regional Office, for 20 years, retiring in 1986. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a communicant of the Roman Catholic Church of Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach, and a past member of the North Jersey Masonic Lodge. Mr. Dyer is survived by his wife of 30 years, Catherine Hoban Dyer; and a stepdaughter, Susan Ferriola of Brownstown, Pa. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Church of Precious Blood.
