      Su Chong Yan

      Mrs. Yan, 72, of Eatontown, died Oct. 12 at Bergen Regional Center Paramus. She resided in Eatontown the past 23 years. She was an assemblyline worker at Anchor Glass, Matawan, retiring after 20 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Eatontown. She enjoyed time with her family, her church, and her Korean heritage. She was predeceased by her husband, Tain Haw Yan in 1998. She is survived by her niece and husband, Angela and Ltc. Stephen Sharkey, of Rhode Island; three great-nieces; and one great-nephew. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by Braun Funeral Home, Eatontown.

      Anthony “Tony” Masi

      Mr. Masi, 88, of Long Branch, died Oct. 6 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Newark, he resided there prior to moving to Long Branch in 1965. Mr. Masi was a retired crossing guard for the Long Branch school system. Prior to that, he was a machinist at Walter Kiddie and at S.S. White, Holmdel, from which he retired. He was a communicant of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. He as a former member of the Newark Elks. Mr. Masi is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Masi; three sons, Pat Masi of Parsippany, Anthony Masi of the Wanamassa section of Ocean Township, and Nicholas Masi of Little Egg Harbor; a sister, Rose Alessio of Arizona; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Interment was at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. The Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch, was in charge of arrangements

      Mary A. Moroney Bacharde

      Mrs. Bacharde, 87, of the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, died Oct. 16 at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation, Red Bank. Born in Carteret, she resided in Matawan before moving to Oakhurst 21 years ago. She and her husband were owners/operators of JoJoe’s Cocktail Lounge, Matawan, for 26 years, retiring in 1979. Mrs. Bacharde was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Bacharde, in 1986; two brothers, Joseph Moroney and Edward Moroney; and a sister, Margaret Lazar. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John K. and Veronica Bacharde of Matawan; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Steve Jakubowski of Oakhurst; a sister, Johanna Casale of Monroe; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A funeral service was held at St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church, Matawan. Entombment took place at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Keyport. The Day Funeral Home, Keyport, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

      Nicholas C. Parlatti

      Mr. Parlatti, 68, of the River Plaza section of Middletown, died Oct. 16 at home. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Carteret prior to moving to River Plaza during the 1960s. He was a retired employee of St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft section of Middletown. Prior to that, he was the proprietor of Niks Beverages, Carteret, and Union Beverages, Linden, and also spent 23 years in the garment industry. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Carteret. He is survived by his wife, Maureen; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynne and Dennis Fowler, of Lincroft, and Sharon and Michael Lohn, of Ocean Township; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Nicholas J. Parlatti, of River Plaza, and Kevin and Phyllis Parlatti, of Lake City, Fla.; and eight grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Leo’s Church. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Arrangement were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
