The theme of the September exhibition at the Art Alliance of Monmouth County Gallery is “Present Concerns.” Works by the late artist Angelika Kolu will be featured in the gallery windows. The show will run through Sept. 29 and an opening reception will be held Sept. 11, 6-8 p.m. Hours at the gallery, which is located at 33 Monmouth St., are Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. The Art Alliance is an all-volunteer, co-op gallery dedicated to providing exhibition and studio space for area artists. Membership is open to all, artists and non-artists, amateur and professional. All media are represented.

A Square Dance Open House will be held at the Thompson Park Activity Barn, Route 520, Lincroft, Sept. 24 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. The free event is sponsored by the Monmouth County Park System and the Middletown Ramblers Square Dance Club.
