The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Southern New Jersey/Shore Region and the Valerie Fund at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, have announced the creation of a family support group for parents and caretakers of children in the active treatment for any type of cancer. The group will meet the first Tuesday of each month beginning July 6 at Our House Senior Center, 127 Bath Ave., Long Branch.

The facilitator will be Linda Fischer-Hopkins, pediatric oncology social worker at the medical center. Guest speaker will be Susan Godwin, an art therapist and licensed professional counselor, who will discuss sibling issues.
