Area residents honored with MCAC awards
The Monmouth County Arts Council (MCAC) has announced the winners of its 25th annual juried art show, judged by Willie Cole. Cole chose 97 works and gave $1,250 in awards to five artists, and honorable mentions to another five artists.
Local winners of $250 awards were Beverly Hertler, Red Bank, for the fiber sculpture "Tapestry 8," Arlene Mollow of the Wayside section of Ocean Township for the collage and encaustic piece "Icon 1," and Jill Ricci, Long Branch, for the mixed media "Fancy Pants."
Honorable mentions went to Walter H. Cushman, Red Bank, for the photo "Great Wall of China," Nanci Hersh, Fair Haven, for her mixed media "What It’s Not," and Judith M. Luger, Oceanport, for her acrylic titled "When Two Hearts Collide."
