The New Jersey Press Foundation, West Trenton, has announced the application deadline for its Bernard Kilgore Memorial Scholarship is Feb. 15. The $5,000 college journalism scholarship is open to New Jersey high school seniors who work on student newspapers.

The Kilgore Memorial Scholarship will honor the student named the 2004 New Jersey High School Journalist of the Year by the Garden State Scholastic Press Association, an organization of the state’s high school journalism teachers and school publications advisers.

Applications must be postmarked by Feb. 15 and mailed to the New Jersey Press Foundation, 840 Bear Tavern Road, Suite 305, West Trenton 08628-1019. The application form and information have been mailed to all New Jersey high schools, and are posted on the foundation’s Web site at www.njpa.org/foundation.
