RICHARD L. LEWICKI, 63, of Aberdeen died Sept. 8 at home. Born in Perth Amboy, he was a lifelong resident of the Matawan and Aberdeen area. He was a fleet manager at Island Transportation, Port Reading, the past year. Prior to that, he worked at Amoco Oil Co., Inwood Terminal, N.Y. He served with the U.S. Army during peacetime. He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. He was a fireman, engineer, lieutenant, captain, deputy chief, secretary, vice president and president at Matawan Township Hose and Chemical. He received a "Heroic Recognition" plaque for saving the lives of two children. He also belonged to the Republican Club, and Aberdeen Planning Board, and served as president of Petroleum Trades Employee Union for 20 years. He was predeceased by his father, Francis Lewicki. He is survived by his wife, Judy Turner Lewicki of Aberdeen; his mother, Nancy Nigro Lewicki of California; his daughter, Sheri Ahearn of Eatontown; his brother, Robert Lewicki of Old Bridge; and one granddaughter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Sept. 12 at 9:15 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport.

VITA SHATZKIN TICKMAN, 77, of the Elberon section of Long Branch, died Aug. 8 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Mrs. Tickman was a retired registered nurse. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Clemens "Cal" Tickman. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Reid Birdsall of West Hartford, Conn., and Marsha Tickman and Gary Snitkin of Cranford; a brother, Merton Shatzkin of Kansas City, Mo.; and two grandchildren. J. DREW BEEBE SR., 53, of Middletown died Sept. 1 at the St. Barnabas Hospice, Long Branch, following a battle with cancer. Born in Paterson, he resided in Totowa and Tinton Falls prior to moving to Middletown 20 years ago. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. He was a teacher at Brick High School the past two years. Prior to that, he taught in Belmar and Toms River, and in the Diocese of Trenton for 23 years. He was also caretaker at Twinlights Historic Lighthouse, Highlands. A recent nominee to Who’s Who in Education, he was also named Environmental Teacher of the Year twice by the Monmouth County Soil Conservation District, Freehold. His memberships included the New Jersey Education Association and Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society for educators. He was predeceased by his father, John Edward Beebe, and a sister, Lynne Vezzosi Tector. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Marie Busch Beebe of Middletown; his son and daughter-in-law, J. Drew and Shari Beebe Jr. of Franklin Park; two daughters, Rebecca Buffin and Meredith Beebe, both Middletown; his mother, June Beebe of Toms River; his sister, Gayle McKnight of the Lincroft section of Middletown; and one granddaughter. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. CLAIRE THOMPSON RINKOWSKI, 83, of Keansburg died Sept. 6 at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. Mrs. Rinkowski had been a resident of Keansburg since 1959. She was a machine operator at Lilly Tulip Cup Corp., Holmdel, retiring in 1983. She was a former communicant of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. Mrs. Rinkowski is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Margaret Rinkowski of Middletown, Robert and Carole Rinkowski of Tuckerton, Paul and Bonnie Rinkowski of Massachusetts, and Philip and Rosemary Rinkowski of Pennsylvania; three daughters and two sons-in-law, JoAnn and Edward Palmer, and Phyllis and Dennis Quaglia, all of Keansburg, and Claire Gilardia of Long Branch; a brother, Joseph Thompson of Colonia; two sisters, Gladys Markey of North Carolina and Nancy De Montmorency of Barnegat; 31 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown, followed by burial at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia.
