Monmouth University, West Long Branch, has announced the premiere season of its new Children’s Theatre Series, which will feature Goldie Locks and the Three Bears Sept. 21; The Velveteen Rabbit Oct. 18, Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Carol Dec. 7, The Three Little Pigs Feb. 22, and School House Rock April 4.
Performances will be at 2 p.m. The series, to be presented in Pollak Theatre, is sponsored by the Monmouth University Alumni Association and produced by the Forum Theatre Company. All productions are performed by professional actors with live music, colorful sets and imaginative costuming.
Cast members will meet and greet the children after each performance to sign autographs and take photographs.

The Good Daughter, a drama by D.W. Gregory, will be performed by the New Jersey Repertory Company through Nov. 16. Set in pre-World War I America, the drama revolves around a farmer and his three grown daughters. Without a wife to share the responsibility, Ned Owen must cope with the whims and passions of three very different women, as well as those of the powerful and sometimes brutal Missouri River.
Previews of the play will be offered at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Oct. 9. The show will continue through Nov. 16 with performances at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays. Preview tickets cost $20; all other tickets cost $30.

The Underpants, by Carl Sternheim, will open at First Avenue Playhouse Friday and will run Thursday-Saturday through Sept. 27 at 8:30 p.m., with a matinee performance Sept. 21 at 2:30 p.m. The playhouse is located at 123 First Ave. in Atlantic Highlands.
