Amanda Matetski, author of Murderers Prefer Blondes, will appear at a book signing July 12, 1-3 p.m., at Fair Haven Books on River Road. The book is Matetski’s second in the Paige Turner mystery series. Her first volume, The Perfect Body, won the Romance Writers Golden Leaf Award for a best first book.
The Monmouth Conservatory of Music Children’s Opera Chorus will travel to England to participate in the International Children’s Choir Festival July 28 to Aug. 5. The 42 students in grades 5 through 12 have a challenging schedule of performances, including an evensong program and concert at Canterbury Cathedral, and the festival final concert with the virtuosi of the London Orchestra. Art Forms, 16 Monmouth St., will host an opening reception for the George Tice Retrospective July 26, 5-7 p.m. The retrospective, which runs through Aug. 17, will feature works by Tice, an artist and author whose career spans five decades. The Monmouth County Arts Council will premiere the film Masked and Anonymous, starring Bob Dylan, at a fund-raiser July 23 at 7 p.m. at Clearview Cinema on White Street in Red Bank. Proceeds will match an NEA Challenge America Grant the arts council received to study services for recording the work of traditional and world musicians.

Over the Rainbow Productions Inc. will present productions of Arsenic and Old Lace featuring casts of adult and teen actors. The classic comedy will be performed by an adult cast July 11-27, Friday and Saturday, at 8 p.m., and Sunday at 3 p.m.; and by a teen cast Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m. Performances will take place at Eatontown Playhouse, in the Tower Market Shopping Center, Route 35. The Red Bank Public Library will host a poetry reading of multicultural and inspirational poems by Lorraine Stanchich July 17 at 6:30 p.m. Reading from her first book of poetry, Witness, Stanchich will recite poems drawn from her experiences as a first-generation American child of a Peruvian mother and a father who was a World War II survivor. She is an adjunct professor of Humanities and Poetry at Ramapo College of New Jersey.
