County appreciates efforts put forth by volunteers Volunteers have been a powerful source of energy, commitment, talent and skills to the Monmouth County Division of Social Services for over 30 years. As National Volunteer Week, April 27 to May 3, is being celebrated in towns and cities across the country, we want you to know how much we appreciate the depth of your commitment to helping others in Monmouth County. Your support has enabled us to make volunteerism an integral part of our delivery of social services, making it possible to develop and expand services to people of all ages and backgrounds. Volunteers in Public Service provide services through Home Friends, Reassuring Calling Service, Transportation, Adult Literacy Training, Parent Mentor and Project EAT. You are able to visit the isolated and lonely; offer emotional support and friendly companionship to the elderly and disabled; teach adults to read and write; nurture single mothers having difficulty coping with the stress of raising families; and feed families who have suddenly found themselves in crisis. You enrich all our lives and make this county healthier and stronger while you improve the experience, skills and aspirations of those in need. Please accept our sincere appreciation for your countless acts of kindness. Pamela A. Beil Director Division of Social Services Monmouth County Department of Human Services Freehold |
