The Stone Pony, 913 Ocean Ave., Asbury Park, will welcome the local band Exit 117 at its "Lonely Hearts Bash" Feb. 14 at 8 p.m. The band will open for the heavy metal group Great White with Jack Russell.

Exit 117 plays regularly at the Brighton Bar, West End section of Long Branch, and consists of Mike Gricko, guitar and vocals; Tony "Astronaut Jones" Costa, bass guitar and vocals; and Charlie Luca, drums.

Applications now taken for ‘Quest for Excellence’

Re/Max of New Jersey has announced that applications are now being accepted for its Quest For Excellence Scholarship Program for students in grades one-12. The deadline to apply is April 15, and winners will be notified May 15.

To be eligible, students must enter an essay based on interests in one of four subjects: leadership, sports, arts, and community service. Twenty winners from New Jersey will each be awarded a $500 scholarship based on the essay.
