The Monmouth Branch of the Lupus Foundation of America will hold its monthly meeting Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Eatontown Library, 33 Broad St. The topic of discussion will be announced at the meeting. ‘First Sunday of the Month Breakfast’ Dec. 1
The Long Branch Council No. 335 Knights of Columbus will hold its "First Sunday of the Month Breakfast" Dec. 1 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Knights’ home, 670 Route 36. The cost is $4, and $2 for children age 12 and younger.
The guest chef will be Rich Cuccinello, who will prepare an "all you can eat" breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausages, juice, coffee, and tea. Take-out is also available. For more information, call John at (732) 222-0052.
Economist to speak
at SCAN center Dec. 10
SCAN Learning Center, Monmouth Mall, Eatontown, will welcome economist Joel L. Naroff Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. Naroff will discuss the state of the economy and how it directly affects individuals.
Naroff is chief economist for Commerce Bancorp. He has been quoted in national business publications and has appeared on the television shows The World News Tonight and The News Hour With Jim Lehrer. International Human Rights concert in Dec.
The student chapter of Amnesty International at Brookdale Community College will commemorate International Human Rights Day with a "Human Rights Concert" Dec. 10 from 11:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The program will be held at the student life center at Brookdale, Newman Springs Road, Lincroft section of Middletown.
Opening remarks will be by Colleen Kelly, of September 11 Families for Peaceful Tomorrows, New York. The group seeks peaceful responses to terrorism. Also speaking will be Vietnam veteran David Cline, national president of Veterans for Peace, an educational and humanitarian organization. Music such as rock, punk, folk and other styles will be performed by local musicians, beginning at 12:30 p.m., followed by poetry readings from members of the Brookdale English Club. ‘A Day with Girl Scouts’ at mall Dec. 14
The Monmouth Council of Girl Scouts, Farmingdale, will hold "A Day with Girl Scouts" for girls ages 5-12 Dec. 14 at Monmouth Mall, Eatontown. Girls do not have to be a current Scout. The cost is $7; for registered Girl Scouts the cost is $5.
The event will consist of supervised sessions of Girl Scout programming, and activities including arts and crafts, games, stories, Scout exhibits. and more. Four sessions are available: 10 a.m.-noon, noon-2 p.m., 2-4 p.m., and 4-6 p.m. Girls may register for more than one session.
