      OBITUARIES

      GILBERT WEASE HARVILLE, 43, of Aberdeen died Oct. 27 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Long Branch, he lived most of his life in Aberdeen. He was employed by the Aberdeen Department of Public Works. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church, Aberdeen, where he also served as a soloist, drummer, and member of the choir. His activities included playing drums, composing music, and poetry. He was predeceased by his parents, Lasker and Elnora Underwood Harville; and a brother, Douglas Harville. He is survived by three brothers, three sisters, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral liturgy was held at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, Aberdeen. Interment was at Midway Green Cemetery, Aberdeen.

      MARGARET ANN "PEGGY" SHEA SCHWARZ, 69, of Eatontown died Nov. 9 at home. Born in Fieldsboro, she lived in Little Silver and Rumson prior to moving to Eatontown in 1987. She was a supervisor of text processing at Lucent Technologies, Holmdel and West Long Branch, for 26 years, retiring in 1988. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was a life member of Pioneers, Lucent Technologies Penn-Jersey Chapter No. 132, and a member of SCAN, Eatontown. Her activities included opera and classical music, and membership in wildlife organizations. She was also an avid gardener. She is survived by her husband, Charles S. Schwar; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Thomas M. and Tricia Beam of Wall Township, and Richard L. and Doreen Beam of Tinton Falls; her stepson and his wife, C. Frederic and Theresa Schwarz of the Belford section of Middletown; her stepdaughter and her husband, Joanne and James Coleridge Jr. of Atlantic Highlands; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Anthony of Padua Church, followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick 08902; or to Lunch Break, 121 W. Bergen Place, Red Bank 07701.

      LUZ M. SANTIAGO COLON, 89, of Red Bank died Nov. 9 at Avante at Red Bank. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she resided in Middletown before moving to Red Bank three years ago. Mrs. Colon was a housekeeper at New York Hospital, New York City, for 18 years, retiring in 1975. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Colon. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Colon of Middletown; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Interment was at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, the Bronx, N.Y.

      DOROTHY PAWLYK HURLEY, 71, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Nov. 1 in Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Prior to her retirement several years ago, she was employed for 15 years as a fine jewelry salesperson at J.C. Penney Co. Inc., East Brunswick. Her husband, Donald Hurley, died in 1997. Surviving are four daughters, Colleen Hurley of Jersey City, Linda Flynn of Edison, Donna Hurley of Westminster, Colo., and Dorothea Bongiovi of Red Bank; three sisters, Lillian Sullivan of Vero Beach, Fla., Helen Wyckoff of Brick and Olga Farozic of Berlin, Md.; and eight grandchildren. Services were held at Kurzawa Funeral Home, Sayreville. Memorial contributions may be made to Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, 65 James St., Edison, NJ 08818.

      EILEEN C. BURKE, 79, of Rumson died Nov. 9 at home. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Middletown prior to moving to Rumson in 1972. She worked part-time in newspaper advertising sales. Prior to that, she was a secretary at NBC, New York City, before marriage. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas R. Burke, in 1991; her sister, Marie Bowen; and her brothers, John, Joseph, Walter and Frank Gavin. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia M. Cummings of Rumson; her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Susan Cummings of Rumson; and three granddaughters. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson, followed by burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
