Free lectures at SCAN during November

Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, will offer several free lectures during November at SCAN Learning Center, Monmouth Mall, Eatontown. "Depression: The Great Impostor" will be presented Nov. 6 from 1-2:30 p.m.

A Parkinson’s disease support group meeting will be Nov. 7 from 10 a.m.-noon. Participants may also take part in "Ease into Exercise" from 11 a.m.-noon ($3 fee). The Monmouth Easy Breathers adult pulmonary support group will meet Nov. 7 from 2-3:30 p.m.

A blood pressure screening will be Nov. 13 from 12:30-2 p.m. "Hospice: A Special Kind of Caring" will be presented by registered nurse Barbara Ecklund Nov. 18 from 10 a.m.-noon. "Alzheimer’s or Forgetfulness?" will be presented Nov. 18 from 1-3 p.m. A program on diabetes awareness will be Nov. 20 from 1-3 p.m.

All the above are free for SCAN members. Membership is free for seniors age 50 and older. For more information, call (732) 542-1326.

New support group offered at Monmouth

Monmouth Medical Center, 300 Second Ave., Long Branch, will offer a new support group, "Strength for Caring," with meetings set for Nov. 6, 13 and 20 from 2-4 p.m.

The group is for individuals caring for family members with cancer, and will meet in conference room B601.
