      Paintings, photos on display at cultural center
           The Monmouth Beach Cultural Center, 128 Ocean Ave., will present paintings by artists John Allen and Kyle Galante from May 29-June 16.

      ~ Notes Around Town ~
           The Office of Code Enforcement in Long Branch has instituted a traffic control plan to be observed during the remaining demolition and construction of Pier Village. A perimeter fence will be installed from Ocean Avenue up and around Melrose Terrace, north on Ocean Boulevard to Laird Avenue, and east to Ocean Avenue. A gate will also be installed on the east side of Ocean Boulevard at the intersection of Chelsea Avenue. A perimeter fence will also be added to on the beach between Melrose Terrace and Laird Avenue. Pedestrians will have access to the beach from Melrose Terrace and Laird Avenue. In the coming weeks the area will be appropriately marked once the gates go up. Gates will be closed at dusk.

      Scholarship to honor lost clammers
           The New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium (NJMSC), Sandy Hook, will sponsor a $2,500 scholarship competition for students at the Marine Academy of Science and Technology (MAST), Sandy Hook. The scholarship will be in memory of Neil "Greg" Pearce and William Bourguignon.
