Monmouth U. names new officers, trustees

WEST LONG BRANCH — Monmouth University has announced its newly elected chairman and vice chairman to the university board of trustees.
Chairman-elect Paul S. Doherty is an active alumnus of Monmouth University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He has served on the board of trustees since 1995.
Today, Doherty is co-founder and president of Arrowpac Inc., a shipping company based in North Bergen, that provides freight transportation arrangements. He currently resides in Ho-Ho-Kus.
"Paul is one of Monmouth University’s most outstanding alumni and is an excellent choice to lead our board," said university President Rebecca Stafford. "He has a long history with the university, and we are confident that he will make a terrific chairman."

"Also, I would like to express the university’s gratitude to Charles Parton for his strong leadership as chairman since 1998 and for his continued service as a board member. His legacy will be a benchmark for all who hold the position in future years," Stafford added.
New Vice Chairman Stephen M. Parks is another university alumnus, having also earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He served on the board of trustees from 1987 to 1991 before taking a brief hiatus. He was elected to the board again in 1998.
Currently a resident of Long Branch, Parks is the founder and president of Parks & Associates Inc., Woodbridge. An insurance and consulting firm, Parks & Associates specializes in corporate property and casualty programs.
Also elected to serve on the board of trustees were alumni William J. Jeffery Jr. and Dr. Janet Kae Daly Greenwood.
Janet Kae Daly Greenwood
Jeffery is vice president of A.T. Kearney Inc., based in New York. The company is a management consulting firm, providing strategic, operational, organization and information technology consulting and executive search services.
Jeffery, of Colts Neck, holds a bachelor’s degree in business accounting.
Greenwood is employed as vice president of A.T. Kearney Executive Search in Virginia — a subsidiary of A.T. Kearney Inc. Greenwood’s background is in higher education, and he served as president of Longwood College in Farmville, Va., and the University of Bridgeport, Conn.
She holds a Ph.D. in counseling and higher education administration from Florida State University. Greenwood resides in Arlington, Va.
This year’s re-elected members to the board of trustees include: W. Cary Edwards of Oakland; Judith Ann Eisenberg of Rumson; Harold L. Hodes of Manalapan; John H. Kessler of Short Hills; Alfred Schiavetti of Fair Haven; and alumnus Thomas Porskievies of Middletown.
"We are so pleased that these distinguished individuals have agreed to take leadership roles at Monmouth University," Stafford concluded. "Our board of trustees has a reputation for being one of the finest of any university in the region, and these new additions will help to carry on that tradition."
