It came close in the end, but close doesn’t count when the score isn’t equal. Even though Ship Ahoy only finished with several more gold medals, it was their ability to round out the two-three consistently that gave them a 267-257 win over Surf Rider.

The victory set the stage for a make-up meet against Seashore Day Camp (rain delay), which will determine who will wear the North Shore Club League championship.

Anchoring the win was Lauren Kelly (girls’ 6/U freestyle); Jackie Bohanan (girls’ 10/U 25-meter backstroke); Alex Fitton and Kelsey Gutiormsen (boys’ and girls’ 10/U 25-meter butterfly); Matt Lamura and Caroline Dell (boys’ and girls’ 10/U 25-meter breaststroke); Charlie Rooney and Rebekah Weiner (boys’ and girls’ (11/12) 100-meter individual medley); Mary McCue (girls’ (13/17) 100-meter individual medley); Will Johnson, Lamura, Fitton and Mike Kelly; and Bohanan, Brianna Malone, Hannah Phillips and Kaitlin Balbo (boys’ and girls’ (9/10) 100-yards medley relay); Rooney, Zeke Miller, Felix Baguchinsky and Mike Verange; and Weiner, Caitlin Dorgan, Quinlan O’Grady and Lesley Pringle (boys’ and girls’ (11/12) 100-yards medley relay).
