      Ship Ahoy and Seashore battle to a hard-fought tie Epic clash moral victory for one, ends win streak for other

           Their best came to compete, and it showed in the final score. Seashore Day Camp and Ship Ahoy beach club swam to a 262-262 deadlock last week to end the North Shore Club swim-league season. The tie was a moral victory for Seashore, who finished the season 5-1-1, and marked the first time that Ship Ahoy has not won a meet since 1997 outright.

           Registration is now open for Red Bank Pop Warner Little Scholars Football and Cheerleading, serving the boroughs of Red Bank, Little Silver and Shrewsbury. With a new administration kicking off the fall 2001 season, parents are urged to enroll their children in what organizers say promises to be a highly successful organization. Children ages 8-15 are eligible to participate in both the football and cheerleading programs. New this year will be an instructional flag football program for children 6 to 7 years old, as well as 5- to 6-year-old "mascot" cheerleaders. Organizers say that great care will be given to be sure the age and weight requirements for all children are strictly followed in each division. A scholastic GPA of no less than 2.0 of 70 percent is also required for each player
