‘Jesus to the Rescue’ Bible school Aug. 13-17

SPCA annual summer gala slated for Aug. 19

The Monmouth County SPCA, Eatontown, will hold its summer gala Aug. 19 at 5 p.m. at the Deal Golf & Country Club. Tickets are $75 per person, and raffle tickets are $10. Jacket and tie are required for the reservation-only fund-raiser.

The event will honor John and Margrit McGrane, Colts Neck, at this year’s benefit, with proceeds to benefit the SPCA. The cocktail party will feature a silent auction, live auctions and a 50/50 raffle. Last year’s 50/50 winner won $10,000 and donated 20 percent back to the SPCA.

Asbury Park Concert Band to perform Sunday

Red Bank Volvo will sponsor a free concert by the Asbury Park Concert Band conducted by John Luckenbill Aug. 5 at 4 p.m. The concert will be at Riverside Gardens Park, Front Street, Red Bank.

Soloists will perform Broadway show tunes, big-band jazz, Dixieland and other selections. Attendees may bring chairs, blankets or pillows to the performance.
